SOLO FOR ORPHEUS
In Solo for Orpheus, Ne.Sans Opera and Dance artistic director Idan Cohen draw inspiration from the myth of Orpheus to create a contemporary comment on Orpheus as the mimesis of an artist. Solo for Orpheus examines the struggles of the performance artist as embodied by solo artist Ted Littlemore.
The World Premiere of Solo for Orpheus was developed through an artistic residency at the Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre
HOURGLASS
A dance performance set to Piano Études by the celebrated minimalist composer Philip Glass, one of the most innovative and influential composers of the late 20th century, and choreographed by Israeli director Idan Cohen.
Philip Glass' ability to reflect an abstraction of time, to tell a story without narrative, while showcasing a minimalistic, crystallized approach to rhythm, is enticingly relevant.
The World Premiere of Hourglass was developed through an artistic residency at the Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre.
Supported by: Canada Council for the Arts, Deux Mille Foundation,City of Vancouver, Metro Vancouver's Regional Cultural Project Grants program.
